A Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School student took first place at the West Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair in the Physics & Astronomy Division.
Ben McCune’s winning project, “Wheee! How Much Track to Loop the Loop?” involved more than 200 individually documented trials. Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School said his dedication, precision and persistence set the work apart from the competition.
“This is not just a win for Ben, but a moment of pride for our entire school community,” the school said. “His success inspires us all to ask big questions, think boldly, and never stop exploring.”
