Bella Hadid Revives a Vintage Alaïa Leather Jacket From the ’80s

Estimated read time1 min read

There’s nothing like a good vintage leather jacket. And particularly one that was pulled from the Alaïa archives.

Last night, Bella Hadid made her way to the Virgil Abloh tribute party in West Hollywood wearing a vintage-on-vintage ensemble. The star piece of the look was, undeniably, a corseted leather jacket from Alaïa’s Fall/Winter 1987 collection—shown nearly four decades ago. The garment, structured yet soft, was designed with little lapels that kissed at a built-in bustier, creating a layered effect ripe with intricate boning to contour the body.

Stylist Mimi Cuttrell sourced the piece of fashion history from celebrity-favorite vintage curator Shy Online, from which the model-stylist duo previously found a Fendi Fall 2003 leather skirt worn by Hadid during Paris Fashion Week. The team behind the online concept store called the jacket “one of the most special vintage pieces they’d ever sourced,” and shared that “seeing it on Bella [made] it even more surreal.”

The Orebella founder kept things classic, wearing the outerwear over a simple white long-sleeve shirt and pairing the tops with a pair of dark-wash Levi’s jeans, also vintage. She brought things back to present day with her Loewe Spring 2026 shoulder bag—a black staple crafted from supple leather with an elongated horizontal shape and stylistic corner patches.

Finishing off the look, Hadid added a little pop of color with leopard-print pumps, and accessorized with sunglasses, a silver cuff, and a pinky ring.
