Better Life Expo connects Ohio Valley residents with health, finance and home resources

Residents in the Ohio Valley had a chance to connect with services and information aimed at improving their quality of life during the Better Life Expo in Marshall County.

Vendors were set up throughout the event offering everything from health screenings and wellness resources to financial planning and home improvement ideas. Organizers said the goal was to give residents easy access to experts who can answer questions and provide guidance on living a healthier and more balanced life.

Scott Reager, executive director of the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce, said the expo featured a wide range of options for attendees.

“We have over 60 vendors here and we have everything from real estate to healthcare. We’re doing a lot of health screenings. There’s all kind of different people here. Small businesses are here as well,” Reager said.

The expo also highlighted local businesses and organizations working to support the community, while giving attendees a chance to learn about programs and services they may not have known existed. Attendees were able to meet safety officials, the sheriff, the EMA director and others who take care of Marshall County.

Reager said the event draws people for a variety of reasons.

“A lot of people just come out to come out and visit. There’s a concession stand here. People are just trying to check out the resources we have in Marshall County,” he said.

Organizers said the event continues to grow each year and gives locals an opportunity to meet new faces, or reconnect with people they have known for years. The event was free to attend and open to the public.
