BIG RAPIDS — The Big Rapids City Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m., March 2, in the commissioners’ room of the Big Rapids City Hall, 226 S. Michigan Ave., Big Rapids.
During the meeting, Community Development Director Michelle Stenger will lead a study session on a proposed city building department.
In a report to the board, Stenger said that at one time the city had its own building department and around 2003 it was dissolved. Since that time, the Mecosta County Building Department has provided those services for the city.
She added that staff had been in discussions about the potential to bring the services back under city management.
Also during the meeting, Ian Rees with Gabridge & Co. will lead a study session on the Annual Financial Report for year end June 2025.
