Since then, Bronny has been navigating his second NBA season, balancing development between the Lakers and their G League affiliate while gradually earning opportunities at the NBA level.

They added another historic moment Friday night against the Brooklyn Nets. During the game, LeBron found Bronny on the perimeter, and the young guard knocked down a catch-and-shoot three-pointer. It was his only basket in four minutes of action and the play marked the first official father-son assist in NBA history.

After the game, Bronny spoke with reporters about his recent opportunities and growing comfort at the NBA level. But the conversation quickly turned into a viral moment when he shared a previously unknown story about his father.

“The last time I played [LeBron] 1-on-1, I don’t know if this story came out. But he broke a backboard at our house in Miami” (via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin)
From a nearby locker, Austin Reaves joked if the story never got out because LeBron lost that matchup, to which Bronny Bronny nodded in agreement.
LeBron and Bronny’s bond throughout the years is well documented. The four-time MVP has consistently supported his son from high school to USC and now into the NBA, and has spoken publicly about his pride in his son’s growth.

After playing 27 games in his rookie year, the 21-year-old has since upped his tally to 34 games in his second season. With the Lakers set to face the Washington Wizards, who sit 13th in the Eastern Conference, Bronny could see additional minutes as Los Angeles seeks its third straight win.
