Buffalo Museum of Science prepping for new exhibit

There’s a new stadium opening this July…and, it is not the one you are thinking of.

The Buffalo Museum of Science’s $3 million “Science Stadium” exhibit is on pace to open in July, just a few weeks before the new Highmark Stadium makes its debut in Orchard Park.

“Science Stadium” is the first new, permanent exhibit to open in the museum since 2018 and is expected to be a big draw, says Museum of Science President and CEO Gary Siddall.

“Matching sports and science together is a no-brainer,” said Assembly Majority Leader Crystal Peoples-Stokes.

Designed as an immersive and interactive experience, the exhibit features 17 hands-on activities that marry science and sports including on-field performances and sports medicine technology.

Featured will be exhibits and memorabilia from the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits.

“Science, in many forms, is happening every day and right in front of your eyes,” said State Sen. April Baskin.

Siddall said the installation of exhibits will begin in early May.

The exhibit received state funding totaling $750,000 plus another $562,322 from the New York Power Authority.
