Bus Accident in Northern Greece Leaves Driver Dead, Workers Safe


A bus carrying employees of the Greek power company DEI crashed off the road near Ptolemaida, Western Macedonia, after the driver suffered a medical emergency, believed to be a cardiac episode, authorities report. Forty workers were on board at the time of the accident.

According to initial information, the private bus struck protective iron guardrails before coming to a stop off the road.

One passenger reportedly took control of the steering wheel and applied the brakes, preventing a more serious accident. The driver, unfortunately, did not survive, while all 40 passengers were unharmed. They were later transported to their destination by another bus.
