Sales of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, the latest entry in the yearly first-person shooter juggernaut franchise, are down significantly compared to its predecessor.
That’s according to a report from The Game Business, which shared on Friday that per GSD (which tracks physical and digital game sales across European markets), sales of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 are down over 50% compared to 2024’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
What happens now for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7?
I’ll be extremely curious to see how publisher Activision and the developers at Treyarch and Raven Software respond. I’ll also be curious to see what data in the U.S. looks like, and if there’s a significant difference in Call of Duty sales in the U.S. as opposed to Europe.
Reviews (and user sentiment) for the game have been mixed, with a fair bit of praise for the multiplayer and Zombies mode, while the quality of the game’s campaign and usage of generative AI assets have seen significant criticism.
