Canada Goose’s Snow Goose Celebrates National Polar Bear Day With Capsule

For nearly two decades, luxury outerwear brand Canada Goose has been supporting Polar Bears International, the singular organization dedicated to conserving polar bears and the sea ice they depend on. Over the years, the brand has debuted a dedicated documentary to the cause, released limited-edition fashion capsules and raised over $8 million in support of the organization’s research, climate-education efforts and conservation work.

Now, Canada Goose is releasing its newest limited-edition Snow Goose capsule in honor of International Polar Bear Day.

“Purpose has always been built into Canada Goose product, not layered on after. Since 2007, our partnership with Polar Bears International has helped shape how we think about product, purpose, and our responsibility to the North,” Carrie Baker, president, brand & commercial, of Canada Goose told WWD. This new collection is how we bring that story forward — authentically connecting people to place with real-world impact.”

The assortment builds on creative director Haider Ackermann’s inaugural design for the brand, as seen through the 2024 PBI hoodie, with two new heavyweight organic cotton terry Snow Goose x PBI styles: the graphic Mesa Tee (available in optical white, azurite blue and black) and Dawn Long-Sleeved Crew Relaxed (in black and azurite blue). Both styles feature a new polar bear graphic featuring one side of the bear’s face next to a top-down view of the Arctic landscape.

The capsule is accompanied by a new campaign featuring polar bears in their natural habitat and the landscape where the duo’s partnership started — Churchill, Manitoba, also known as the polar bear capital of the world. The brand also noted the campaign reflects their ongoing partnership, which also includes outfitting researchers for extreme weather conditions.

“[Canada Goose’s] support makes our research, education and outreach possible. International Polar Bear Day comes at a special time of year, when moms and their newborn cubs are snuggled in snow dens across the Arctic, just before they emerge to start their journey to the sea ice,” Alysa McCall, director of science, polar bears international said of the long-term partnership.

“We’re excited to mark it with the new Snow Goose X PBI collection, which helps fund critical research to protect the next generation of polar bears. Long-term partnerships matter in conservation, especially in the Arctic, where reliable gear and sustained support make all the difference,” she added.

The limited-edition assortment will be available globally in select Canada Goose stores and via its e-commerce starting Friday. Furthermore, those who stop in-store will receive a complimentary tote bag as well as an exclusive PBI adoption kit with “PBI Polar Bear Plush” and a PBI certificate of adoption, with purchase and while supplies last.

In addition, for every item sold, a set contribution will be made by Canada Goose in support of the animal’s conservation and advocacy.
