Capitol Groove music festival postponed until 2027 in latest delay from GoodWorks Entertainment

The Capitol Groove music festival in Bushnell Park is postponed until 2027 due to scheduling challenges.

HARTFORD, Conn. — The Capitol Groove music festival in Hartford has been postponed until 2027, according to a message on the festival’s website.

For the past two years, the event has brought crowds to Bushnell Park at the end of June and seen both big talent and big fans. But for 2026, hopes of experiencing the festival have been dashed.

“I’m not super confident that we’ll see it in 2027,” said Jenna Klein of Hartford.

Loyal Capitol Groove customers like Klein are unsure if they will see the music festival again. She and her boyfriend Sean Edelman attended the event both years and were ready to buy tickets once the 2026 lineup was dropped. The lineup, however, is now out of the question, thanks to news of its postponement.

“I was really bummed,” Klein said. “We really enjoyed it.”

News broke online on Friday when this message was posted to the festival’s website and social media with the following:

“To our Cap Groove family, We can’t thank you enough for your support in our first two years.

Due to scheduling challenges surrounding this year’s festival, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone The Capitol Groove until 2027. We look forward to seeing everyone then!

We want to thank our industry partners, the City Of Hartford, and most importantly, the fans who have made this event the highlight of our last two summers.

Refunds for 2026 tickets are now being processed and should be completed within the next two weeks. Please contact boxoffice@goodworkslive.com with any questions. ‍

Stay Groovy everyone, and we’ll see you in 2027!”

GoodWorks Entertainment manages the Capitol Groove festival, which was not the only music event of theirs to be postponed in 2026. Back Cove Fest in Portland, Maine, was postponed back in January as well.

However, the entertainment group’s festival in Rhode Island is still on for 2026, and released its lineup in the past week.

“You gotta keep the momentum train, and if you cancel a big event like that, and you don’t have anything in its place, people kind of forget Bushnell exists, which is a great park,” Edelman said.

FOX61 has reached out to the team behind the Capitol Groove but has not heard back. At this time, there are no dates for the festival in 2027.

“By postponing it this year, you’re kind of losing that momentum that you’ve built the last two years, and maybe have to start again from square one,” Klein said.
