(Red Oak) -- Red Oak officials have appointed a longtime resident as the city's new finance manager and clerk.At a special meeting Monday, the Red Oak City Council unanimously approved the hiring of Carrie Shalters as the city finance manager-clerk, with a starting annual salary of $67,000.Officials say Shalters brings strong financial management, administrative and leadership experience to the position. She served as the Executive Director of the Montgomery County Family YMCA since since 2022, following five years as Membership and Customer Service Manager for the same organization. (KAIT) - The Jonesboro Finance and Administration Council Committee will vote Thursday on a $5 million contract to build a new emergency response center.The committee filed a resolution to enter a contract with Bailey Contractors, Inc. to build the new 911 and Real Time Crime Center.It will vote to approve the resolution at its next meeting at 4 p.m. Nov. 14.
