Judge issues TRO to allow charitable gaming machines to operate in Kentucky

Charitable gaming machines in Kentucky will be allowed to operate, for now.The Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Commission ordered nonprofits to shut down electronic pull tab machines made by two companies after a string of thefts.Shirley's Way and two other Louisville-based charities filed a complaint. They argued the lost revenue during the holiday season would disrupt their missions.A Jefferson County judge then issued a temporary restraining order to allow the machines to be used.South Center for the Developmentally Disabled and Educational Justice are the other two nonprofits that filed the complaint alongside Shirley's Way.A hearing on the matter is set for Dec. 8.
