Following a rather disappointing launch, Intel is set to update its Arrow Lake-S desktop CPU range with three new models that promise slight enhancements. As reported by Videocardz, the company is getting ready to introduce the Core Ultra 290K Plus, Core Ultra 270K Plus, and Core Ultra 250K Plus processors, marking the last offerings for the current LGA 1851 socket before transitioning to LGA 1954 for Nova Lake. The new flagship of Intel's Core Ultra line only introduces faster CPU cores. The company has not developed new Arrow Lake silicon aimed at increasing core counts, making the Ultra 9 290K PLUS essentially a speedier variant of the Ultra 9 285K. In its latest Annual Report, Ubisoft Limited – the UK-based arm of Ubisoft responsible for distributing video game software in the UK and other markets – wrote that many new games are struggling in the market and underperforming financially because "consumers are playing fewer games" and "playing them for longer."In their eyes, the long-standing model of selling a single game for £50-60 a pop "continues to become less ubiquitous" due to subscription services, live-service games with a longer lifespan, F2P titles, and cloud streaming offerings.As a result of this, along with the market's alleged unpredictability and Ubisoft having fewer releases planned for the coming year, Ubisoft Limited expects its revenue to decline in fiscal year 2026. Nintendo has offered fans their first glimpse of The Legend of Zelda’s leap into live action. Images released Monday on the Nintendo Today app showcase young actors Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as the magical Princess Zelda and the green-clad swordsman Link, respectively, in Sony and Nintendo’s upcoming big-screen adaptation. The stills show the pair standing in a sun-drenched meadow, Zelda gripping her signature bow and arrow, while both wear faithful recreations of the characters’ classic Hylian costumes — complete with pointed ears. Israeli gaming company Playtika is preparing to lay off about 20 percent of its employees in December, sources told Calcalist. The cuts are expected to begin next month, with an estimated 700 to 800 workers to be dismissed. Playtika currently employs about 3,500 people, including roughly 1,000 in Israel.The company has carried out four rounds of layoffs since 2022 in which more than 1,000 employees were dismissed. The most recent round took place in June.
