I Really Want A Donkey Kong Movie To Happen, And A New Rumor Is Making Me Hopeful

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie's first trailer arrived days ago and, amidst all the fun and nods to other Nintendo games, I couldn't help but notice one big character was missing. Seth Rogen's Donkey Kong was nowhere to be seen, despite having a heavy presence in the original movie. Not only that, but Rogen wants to continue voicing the character. All the while, though there have been rumors regarding a DK spinoff.Very little has been reported about the alleged movie since this past summer but, now, a new rumor has me hopeful we'll see it before too long. It would appear that an upcoming video game adaptation specifically for Donkey Kong is still in the works, and it might even have a release window. The Donkey Kong Movie Is Allegedly In Development With A Release Window In MindJust on the he...

Affordable gaming laptops are a thing of the past, so you should get a Steam Deck instead

If you're looking to get a new piece of gaming hardware, and you need to stay on a tight budget, you might want to focus on an affordable gaming laptop or mini PC. But few of those exist in the sub-$1000 category anymore, and the ones that do often compromise on price with an ancient CPU, old GPU, barely enough RAM, and a tiny SSD. And they'll still be more expensive than they're worth. But before you give your gaming dreams up for a loss, there is one easy answer: buy a Steam Deck instead. One of the Best (and Darkest) Crime Movies of All Time Just Arrived on Netflix

If you’re in the mood for something thrilling, and you can handle a terrifying real-life crime story from one of the film industry’s most exciting auteurs, Netflix has just added an all-timer that you definitely need to see. A couple of movies made their way to Netflix’s lineup on Monday morning, including arguably the best thriller of director David Fincher’s career, one that brings to life the chilling saga of the Zodiac Killer. David Fincher’s Zodiac, released in 2007, remains an iconic crime thriller for a reason. The film dives deep not only into the psychological menace created by a serial killer on the loose, but really let the film embrace the people who were working so hard to stop him. The Best Comedy From Every Year of the 21st Century

Sure, serious movies tend to be the ones that win Oscars, but many of the best movies of all time have been comedies (and a few have been recognized by the Academy and other awards shows, in all fairness). You can go back to the silent era to see this, as Buster Keaton’s The General and Sherlock Jr. are timelessly funny, and then Charlie Chaplin – with the likes of The Kid and City Lights – also made phenomenally great comedies. The classics are great and all, but it’s also worth shouting out more recent comedies that, in time, will themselves probably qualify as classics. That’s what the following intends to do, highlighting the best comedy (with some films being dramedies, admittedly, and others being comedies that also float between some other genres) of every year. Humor can be subj...

MCLS Invites the Community to Explore the Wild Side of Music – WHIZ

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Library System is getting ready to explore the wild side of music with an upcoming program. Crash, Boom, Bang will take place on Wednesday, Nov.19th from 4 to 5PM at the South Branch Library. Alex Simmons, an Assistant Youth Librarian, said this program will be similar to their 30 minute Music Makers program they host at all of their Branches, but this one will be a little different. “We have a lot of music programming and I like to focus on STEAM programming.” Simmons said. “So I’m taking some STEAM aspects, the Science and Engineering specifically, of how sound and music work together and how sound creates music. How we can use everyday sounds that we hear to combine them into making music where you don’t expect to find it.” Simmons said this program...

All the new Xbox games arriving this week (Nov. 17-23)

Another new week is here, with another wave of games soon to populate the Xbox storefront. This is something of a quieter week, with fewer "heavy hitters" as the big first and third-party titles have mainly launched in preparation for the holidays. Still, there are some games worth noticing, including Necrosoft's Demonschool, an eerie turn-based tactics role-playing game set on a strange island filled with monsters. Demonschool was initially supposed to arrive back in September, but was delayed due to the sudden arrival of Team Cherry's highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong. If you missed last week's titles, be sure to check them out as well. Now, here are all the new games launching on Xbox this week, listed below.November 17, 2025The Berlin Apartment (Xbox Series X|S): "Dilara joins...

All the ‘Star Trek’ Movies Paramount Has Said It’s Trying to Make Lately

“A new Star Trek movie is coming!” Here at io9 we’ve been telling you that quite a bit over the last few years—most recently last week, with the news that D&D: Honor Among Thieves tag team Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley were turning their focus where, it turns out, quite a few film producers have gone before. Although perhaps Star Trek‘s other friend in the ‘Star franchise’ genre has been in the spotlight the past few years for its inability to get a movie onto the big screen (that fortune will finally change next year), Trek has had an even longer break from the silver screen, with the gap between Star Trek Beyond and whatever’s next now longer—and only increasing—than the gap between Nemesis and the 2009 J.J. Abrams reboot. It’s not been for a lack of trying, though. Over ...
