MKE Music Video Premiere: Collections of Colonies of Bees, ‘You can go again’

Partnerships are tricky, especially when it comes to creative projects that are typically littered with strong points of view from strong personalities. When those perspectives don’t align or complement each other, things can fall apart in a hurry. When they do, you get something like the video for “You can go again” that we’re helping Collections of Colonies of Bees premiere today. We already knew the track as part of Celebrities, the album released by the beloved Milwaukee band this past July. It’s a bona fide bop that urges you to move from the very first line (“She can dance”), not to mention the groovy as hell bass-and-drum combo and a chorus that feels like one big release. So why not just make dance the focal point of the entire video?Joe Shea and Tom Grimm made that wise decision as p...

Xbox boss Phil Spencer says “we welcome new options for players” as Valve unveils new rival hardware in the Steam Machine, saying new competition is how “gaming moves forward”

There's a new console on the way, with Valve suddenly announcing the Steam Machine yesterday, sending shockwaves through the industry. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has weighed in, congratulating the company and cheering on its console."Gaming moves forward when players and developers have more ways to play and create, especially across open platforms," Spencer writes on Twitter. "Expanding access across PC, console, and handheld devices reflects a future built on choice, core values that have guided Xbox's vision from the start."He adds that "as one of the largest publishers of Steam," Microsoft welcomes "new options for players." Another Xbox proponent, Josh Stein, the senior social media manager, noticed something else about Valve's big announcement. You may like Gaming moves for...

Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution warns legal action against those recording the anime movie at Japanese screenings: “10 years imprisonment” or a fine of up to 10 million yen, or both”

New anime movie Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution is facing trouble with Japanese fans recording the film in theaters before its overseas release, to the point that the studio has threatened legal action against anyone caught pirating the movie."Filming a movie inside a theater is a crime under the Law for Prevention of Unauthorized Recording of Films," said the Jujutsu Kaisen team via Twitter. "If copyright infringement occurs in violation of the Film Piracy Prevention Law or the Copyright Act, penalties may include up to 10 years imprisonment, or a fine of up to 10 million yen, or both."Threatening prison time seems quite extreme, but the movie has yet to be released overseas, meaning that viewers who are posting clips are completely ruining the experience for fans who haven't yet seen the movie...

Why People Call House Music ‘House’: Everything You Should Know

4 I remember the first time I got lost in a house music set. It was 2 a.m., and I was drenched in sweat, standing in the middle of a crowd that moved like one pulsing organism. There were no phones in the air, no one trying to capture the moment, just bodies moving, eyes closed, feeling the music. That night, someone turned to me and said, “This is real house. You can always tell.” I nodded like I understood, but honestly? I had no idea what “real house” even meant. So, why do people call house music “house”? Let’s rewind a little and dive into the story. Spoiler alert! It’s got everything to do with gritty clubs, disco’s last breath, underground legends, and, yeah, a whole lot of soul. The Warehouse That Started It All The most common origin story traces house music back to a Chicago clu...

Shoot The Hostage: A Deep Dive into Movie Genres | by Frank Racioppi | Ear Worthy | Nov, 2025

Movie podcasts are as numerous as the number of popped kernels in movie theater popcorn. But just like the variance in taste between the best and worst movie popcorn (You need butter even if it’s bad for you!), movie podcasts can excel, and others can leave a bad taste in your mouth and a popcorn kernel spot-welded to the back of your mouth.Shoot The Hostage is unique among movie podcasts because it focuses on a single theme each season. Here’s their marketing statement:“Welcome to Shoot The Hostage with Sarah and Dan, the movie podcast where we pick one movie at a time and take a deep dive into anything and everything we can. Each season, we dive into a new theme, which we take turns in choosing. We tend to choose a diverse pick of films for each season, trying our best to cover different...

Valve announces the Steam Controller and it’s genuinely good: ‘we knew we needed to make this controller’

Valve has announced a new Steam Controller, called the Steam Controller, and I've given it a go. Valve has given its latest creation the same name as its previous star-crossed product, but this new model is going to be far less divisive than the original. Of that, I am absolutely sure. The idea behind the Steam Controller is that it allows you to interact with your PC while on your sofa or away from a desk with the accuracy of a mouse, without actually requiring one. This is, and always has been, a good idea. Where people differ is on whether the original manifestation of the Steam Controller, first released in 2015, was any good or not.I never used it for long enough to get to grips with it—which was, in large part, the problem with it. Some here at PC Gamer own the controller, but rarely,...
