Movies Enhanced by Metallica’s Dark Soundscapes

Metallica is one of the most popular heavy metal bands of all time, and they continue to sell out stadiums. While Metallica has ruled the heavy metal space for decades, they've also made an impact on the film world with their music. Throughout the years, the band's music has made their way into a bevy of feature films and enhanced the movie space.Metallica doesn’t just play music, it detonates emotion. Decades after the first thrash riffs shook suburban basements and parental patience alike, the band continues to speak to something raw, loud and defiantly human. At first glance, it's easy to dismiss Metallica as the soundtrack for people who like to smash air guitar. But behind the hair-whipping fun is a pulse that beats in perfect time with human frustration, resilience and the desperate n...

How music stations have modernized the white-label gaming space

Broadcaster have expanded their reach For decades, radio stations have shaped how we discover new sounds and connect with the artists we love. What few predicted is how those same stations would help modernise an entirely different corner of entertainment: the white-label gaming space. This refers to a platform or service that is fully supported and developed by a third party, but branded by the station. As iGaming has grown at a staggering pace, music broadcasters have stepped into the arena not as bystanders, but as brands ready to expand their influence. Modern white-label casino platforms were built for this moment. Instead of requiring businesses to design a gaming platform from the ground up, white-label providers offer fully licensed, fully equipped systems that can be branded and l...

You can slot a Switch 2 into this CRT-equipped retro console like a games cartridge, which sounds like the most satisfying use of a Nintendo product ever

I Built A Retro Switch 2 Dock! - YouTube Watch On Why do we love game cartridges so? It's something about the tactility, I'd wager, combined with the nostalgia of holding your individual games in your hand. Holiday gift vibes, that sort of thing. Anyway, Joel of YouTube channel Joel Creates has taken that nostalgia trip to its absolute extreme, creating a CRT-equipped Nintendo Switch 2 dock that allows you to use the entire console like a cartridge, slotting it into a mahoosive opening on the front. The project itself is based on Joel's childhood memory of a Nintendo 64 running in a store window display, and attempts to recapture the magic of that experience (via Hackaday). There's something alluring about a game running on a CRT monitor, so they took it upon themselves to bring gaming...

AI hits the music charts as 97% of listeners can’t tell the difference

Ninety-seven per cent of people surveyed could not tell the difference between fully AI-generated music and human made music in a new survey from Deezer and Ipsos. The survey comes as an AI “band” – Breaking Rust –  hit number one on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales chart, and as artists voice their concerns about copyright, AI transparency, and fair compensation. The survey reached 9000 listeners across the UK, US, Canada, Brazil, France, Netherlands, Germany, and Japan. A majority (71%) were surprised by inability to identify AI-generated music, with more than half (52%) feeling uncomfortable by not being able to tell the difference. The study revealed that nearly half (45%) of participants would like to filter out 100% AI-generated music from their streaming platform, while 40% sa...

ARC Raiders uses generative AI for voice lines trained on its paid actors — so what? Let’s talk about where we draw the line.

AI has become the world's word, driving sales, infrastructure, device creation, and even video games. In the world of cost-cutting measures, AI has become a tool many use to save not just a buck, but also time and energy, in a world where everyone, all at once, needs everything now.Is AI the next boogeyman, or is it something else? Will it "doom" us all to an existence in which humanity's artistic talents lie dormant, locked behind a wall of ever-growing, power-hungry server structures? Or is it the next step in human evolution, not one created by selection or generations, but one made by human intervention?Where it lies on that less-than-linear scale is not a simple conversation to have, nor one that I'll even have scratched the surface of once you've finished reading this piece. What I a...

It was a huge risk

Layoffs are a natural part of the banking world and, when affected, most people pick themselves up and look for their next banking job. Claire Castera, an ex-equity structuring director at Deutsche Bank, had a different plan when she was laid off back in 2010: she executive produced a movie.Click here to join the bubble by eFinancialCareers, our new anonymous community. ✍️Castera had always been interested in movies but, as a finance graduate, "a career in finance made more sense." At a drinks event following her layoff, however, she was introduced to a colleague that had contacts in the film industry and knew of a creative team in need of a production company. "We raised the money around our own network and we made it happen." Her executive producer partners included Philippe Derimay, a C...
