Modder builds Windows 98 handheld gaming PC with Intel Pentium inside

Make a Pentium mmx cpu handheld computer - YouTube Watch On I'm partial to builds with a retrofuturistic flair, particularly palmtop projects that imagine a portable past that never existed. Taking a leaf from the 'Windows where it shouldn't be' chapter out of the modder's playbook, one solo tinkerer has built a throwback handheld gaming PC that's rocking Pentium inside.Built by maker Changliang Li, his Windows 98 handheld gaming PC plays all the contemporaneous hits, like StarCraft and Tomb Raider II (with of-the-era frame rates, too). Contained in a 3D printed, plastic shell spray painted an authentic shade of yellow that harkens back to its forebears, the homebrew handheld even features a Logitech rollerball mouse (via Hackaday). As for mouse clicks, those are tied to a lonely littl...

A Geekdad Preview of 2026 Movies – GeekDad

The year is again coming to a close, and that once again means it’s time for us to take a close look at the films that look interesting next year. I’ve divided these 2026 movies up into five handy categories. and this year those categories are Remakes, Sequels, Superheroes, Actually a Fresh Idea, and My Picks. Yes – I’m saving the movies I’m most excited about for the very end. Remakes The remakes are just inescapable at this point. Let’s see which four I’m pointing out to be worth a look. June 5th: Masters of the Universe He-Man: Masters of the Universe is going to star Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and Jared Leto as Skeletor. I was never a huge fan of the franchise, but when I saw that Alison Brie, Idris Elba, Morena Baccarin, and Kristen Wiig would also be in the film, I took interest. ...

Cara Brown Investigates Abuse in the Music Industry in a Hard-Hitting One-Shot – Broken Frontier

THOUGHT BUBBLE MONTH 2025! I am often asked exactly what I am looking for when I select artists for our Broken Frontier ‘Six to Watch’ programme every year. That is a difficult question to answer because the reasons range from the obvious to a nebulous kind of instinctive reaction to someone’s work. One quality, though, that does always impress me is an artist’s ability to adapt their style for the differing needs of a particular story. Whether that be for reasons of genre, theme or approach. Cara Brown, of this year’s BF Six, is one such individual. Something she has proved in everything from manga-inspired horror to the realism of the autobiographical Everything’s Fine. Star! is another example of this versatility. But a trigger warning before we go further that it contains themes of se...

I’ve tested heaps of gaming mouse and while this isn’t the lightest, it’s one of the best value with $35 off

I've spent the last couple of months trying all kinds of lightweight gaming mice, and I can tell you that they are absolutely worth it if you're looking to improve your competitive FPS chops. (Just don't blame me if your K:D ratio doesn't improve, okay? I can't work wonders.)To that end, the ongoing deal on the Turtle Beach Burst II Air, which we noticed during October Prime Day, is well worth a look, I'd say. There are lighter mice on the market right now, such as the fantastic Corsair Sabre V2 Pro, but the Burst II Air's 47 g is still mighty light, and it's very well-priced right now for $65 at Amazon. If you're wondering just how light, exactly, bear in mind that the very best gaming mouse right now, the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro weighs 56 g. And that the ever-popular Logitech G Pro X Supe...

It blends intimate storytelling with elements of folk, lo-fi, and shoegaze, infusing field recordings from nature and the street markets of her former hometown in Jordan.Throughout the 10-track album, the 22-year-old references the environment around her to describe the emotions and experiences of growing up as a first-generation immigrant, using flora and fauna to represent her longing for freedom. In Copula’s opening track “Stranger In You,” sonically sets the scene with the ambience of outdoor...

7 Biggest MCU And DCU Disappointments In 2025’s Movies And TV Shows

While our first look at Avengers: Doomsday is said to be on the horizon, there are no more movies or TV shows heading our way from Marvel Studios and DC Studios in 2025.  Looking back over the year, it's been something of a mixed bag. On the one hand, there were successes like Daredevil: Born Again, Superman, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Still, many fans seemed to walk away from the likes of Peacemaker and Captain America: Brave New World feeling like they'd been let down. It's all subjective, but at a time when superhero fatigue is a very real problem, neither the MCU nor DCU can afford any missteps. However, it's those we're taking a closer look at in this feature, as we delve into the year's biggest superhero movie and TV show disappointment. You can check out the moments and...
