Scary Movie 6 Confirms the Funniest Character in the Franchise Is Actually Coming Back

Scary MoVIe, as it’s officially titled, continues to indicate it’s going to be a real treat for fans of the first two movies. For one, Marlon Wayans Shorty) and Shawn Wayans (Ray) are returning to both star in and write the film while Keenan Ivory Wayans, who directed the first two, will be assisting on the script. Then there’s Anna Faris and Regina Hall, who are returning as, respectively, Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks. As Scary Movie V showed, it’s simply not Scary Movie without them. Then there is the host of favorites who put their stamp on the first film, with almost every major cast member of that film returning after 26 long years. To that latter point, it seems as though we might be in store for a reunion with some Scary Movie 2 veterans, as well. At least one, anyway, as it...

One of 2025’s Most Addictive New Indie Games Releases for Mobile (And It’s Free to Try)

Mobile games can get a bit of a bad reputation these days, in part because so many of them are chock full of ads and monetization. But at its heart, mobile gaming can be a way to bring games on the go. And in the case of the brand-new mobile port of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, that’s exactly what we’re getting. The auto-shooter spin-off from the main Deep Rock Galactic series launched into 1.0 earlier this year, and it’s now headed to iOS and Android. On November 12th, Ghost Ship Publishing and Funday Games officially announced the mobile release of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. This engaging roguelike autoshooter is an addictive delight with a fun gameplay loop that frankly lends itself well to gamers on the go. The game released for PC and Xbox earlier this year, and is now arriv...

Incoming November music  – Illinois Times, the capital city’s weekly source of news, politics, arts, entertainment, culture

Look out folks, we’ve got a bunch of stuff happening this week, but then again, we seem to find a ton or two of things to do every time we look for live music in Springfield and the surrounding area. Let’s see what we can find to hear out there in this week’s search. Thursdays refuse to slow down this season, and it’s a sure sign of a very healthy and robust scene when more than just the typical Friday and Saturday nights are busy. We start with the Thursday Night Live show at Motorheads showcasing different local talent every second Thursday monthly. This time around, it’s Hippies of the Heartland (Rickey and Fran Meredith), Katie Nicole Johnson, Niko Boeker, Steve Gragert and Brandt Sitze on the big Motordome stage.  Danenberger Family Vineyards and WQLZ present a Rock the Pink con...

Room tax, gaming fee revenue down, affecting LVCVA budget | Tourism

The decline in tourism has put a dent in the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s revenue stream with room tax and gaming fee receipts down 14 percent from a year ago in the first quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year. LVCVA Chief Financial Officer Jim McIntosh told board members Wednesday a drop was anticipated — but not as much as what occurred and a robust convention calendar in early 2026 should help toward a rebound. Board members didn’t comment on a quarterly report presented Wednesday that said room tax and gaming fee receipts are off 14 percent to $73.9 million for the quarter, while Las Vegas Convention Center space rentals are down 9 percent to $6.8 million and Las Vegas Monorail farebox receipts are off 13 percent to $5.7 million for the quarter. Overall, quarterly revenue...

10 Greatest Neo-Western Movies of the Last 100 Years, Ranked

Western drama has been an integral aspect of cinematic storytelling since the dawn of the medium, an evergreen exploration of American history that uses sweeping visuals, striking scores, and powerful themes to tell its tales with tremendous gravitas. While this is a constant truism of the genre, Western cinema has also had to evolve dramatically over time to remain relevant. One of the best developments to come from this progression has been the advent of neo-Western cinema. Not only an examination of traditional Western tropes in more modern settings (though that is a huge aspect of it), neo-Westerns also endeavor to revisit popular genre settings with a renewed thematic lens. While the subgenre is relatively new in the wheelhouse of Western cinema at large, it has presented many of t...

SharpLink Gaming Bets Big On Ethereum And Shareholders

What’s going on here?SharpLink Gaming just posted a standout Q3 2025 – revenue soared over 1,100% to $10.8 million, thanks to a big bet on ethereum, and unveiled a hefty $1.5 billion stock buyback, even as sales missed Wall Street’s $697 million target. What does this mean?SharpLink’s blockbuster revenue jump wasn’t from classic gaming operations, but from cashing in on ethereum’s potential. By doubling down on its ETH per share, ramping up staking activity, and leaning into its crypto treasury to produce yield, the firm’s net income shot up to $104.3 million. This approach let SharpLink convert its digital asset holdings into sizable profits, helping offset softer overall sales. Investors responded positively, especially with the newly announced $1.5 billion stock buyback boosting confiden...

The pope’s favorite movies? Not a slasher film in the bunch

The “Purge” movies are missing from the list, as are the entries in the “Saw” franchise. There are no “Evil Dead” titles. “The Exorcist” is suspiciously absent. The list, in this case, is the favorite four films of Pope Leo XIV, f.k.a. Robert Francis Prevost of Chicago. The pontiff released the list via video ahead of a planned meeting Saturday with luminaries from the world of cinema. To avoid the risk of being played off the stage by the academy’s orchestra, let’s share the winners quickly: 1. “It’s a Wonderful Life,” 19462. “The Sound of Music,” 19653. “Ordinary People,” 19804. “Life Is Beautiful,” 1997That’s it. No “The Agony and the Ecstasy.” No “Pope Joan” or “Spotlight” or “Conclave,” for obvious reasons. No “Sister Act” or “Oh, God!” or any of the associated sequels, for less obvio...

The cinematic clip brings the GRAMMY and CMA-wining song to life. Chris Stapleton enlists an A-list lineup of stars to bring his GRAMMY and CMA-winning song “White Horse” to life in a cinematic music video. Filmed against the open landscapes of Marfa, Texas, the music video, produced by Strange Arcade and directed by Running Bear Films, stars acclaimed Hollywood actors Josh Brolin (No Country For Old Men, True Grit) alongside Mae McKagan and Tommy Martinez. Stapleton himself also makes appearances alongside his wife and collaborator, Morgane, adding a personal touch to the narrative. The video follows a couple on the run after robbing a bank, with Brolin’s sheriff character caught in the middle. Despite his commitment to the law, he develops a protective, almost paternal bond with t...
