60 Years Ago, Clint Eastwood Starred in His Best Western Film

The action genre continues to evolve, whether through the continued growth of CGI and AI, or those daring filmmakers who aim to deliver fisticuffs and shootouts with stuntpeople and practical effects in new and authentic ways. Looking back, many of the hit action films of yesteryear seem somewhat dated, but like any genre, some classics remain timeless and continue to pack a punch. Of course, it does not hurt when you have an icon like Clint Eastwood in the lead, whose cool and calm veneer has long made him the quintessential action hero. Building on the success of Rawhide (1959–1965), Eastwood's impact on action and Western genres was not immediately apparent. However, his subsequent success cannot be understated, starting with a series of movies that remain among his best. All the mov...

Which social media marketing is actually working in gaming right now? — CDC Gaming

Social media marketing still works, although the way it succeeds looks different than it used to. The brands that are growing their audiences in 2025 are steady, consistent, and intentional in how they show up. They’ve learned that tone and timing carry more weight than volume or flash. LinkedIn has become one of the most productive spaces for B2B visibility in gaming. The strongest accounts belong to people who work inside the industry and speak from experience. Short videos, written insights, and even simple posts that reflect what someone has learned attract more attention than polished corporate updates. A recognizable voice builds familiarity and familiarity builds trust. The audience wants to feel like someone real is behind the account. TikTok has continued to evolve into a place wh...

33 New Movies and Shows to Watch on Netflix This Week

It may not be Thanksgiving yet, but you had better be ready to jingle all the way down Santa Claus lane, because out of all the new movies and shows on Netflix this week, about a third of them are Christmas movies. That includes a new Netflix original Christmas rom-com starring Alicia Silverstone and Melissa Joan Hart and an early 2000s dramedy starring Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore and Sam Rockwell, but mostly, it’s a big batch of TV Christmas movies from the last couple of years.New releases on Netflix this week also include the return of “Sesame Street,” a new Claire Danes drama from the team behind “Homeland,... Turnpike Troubadours Announce New 2026 Tour Dates

The Turnpike Troubadours got jobbed last week by the Grammy Awards when they announced their nominees and their new album The Price of Admission wasn’t in them. The album has distinguished itself as perhaps the best country album of 2025, maybe one of the best country albums of the last decade, a career effort from this critically-acclaimed band, and has created renewed vigor and interest in their music. But the Turnpike Troubadours don’t need some trophy to validate them, and they never did. Their glory is out there on the road singing their songs to fervent crowds who feverishly sing every word to every song back at the stage, taking their music like a testament of their lives. There’s few experiences like seeing the Turnpike Troubadours in concert, and you just got a few more chances t...

The biggest flaw with today’s gaming world – Jonas’s blog

It's hardly an original thought and I know I've said the same thing several times before, but... the worst thing about today's gaming world isn't microtransactions, loot boxes, free-to-play, live service, subscription services, Game Key Cards, or anything like that - but the totally exaggerated development times. When Todd Howard now says that The Elder Scrolls VI is far away, even though it's been 14 years since Skyrim, it's nothing too strange. The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI is in the same region and overall we wait an unreasonably long time for everything. Those of us who played Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 at the time of the game remember how three Bioshocks were released for the same generation, three Mass Effect, four Gears of War, three Uncharted, five Halo, three Skate, three Resista...

8 Great Prison Movies You Might Have Missed

Flickering Myth’s Casey Chong presents eight great prison movies for your watch list… Notable prison movies such as The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Papillon and Escape from Alcatraz rule the genre, offering a mix of character-driven stories with emotional and dramatic urgency behind the locked cells. But there’s a healthy selection of great prison movies out there, and here’s eight of them that are well worth checking out if you haven’t done so… Dog Pound (2010) French director Kim Chapiron, marking his first English-language debut, embraces a raw, take-no-prisoners approach in Dog Pound, which centres on three teenagers – Adam Butcher’s Butch, Shane Kippel’s Davis and Mateo Morales’s Angel – imprisoned in a juvenile correctional facility for their crimes. Chapiron, who also co...
