  Opera Ballet Vlaanderen in Antwerp, Belgium, recently announced that the German conductor Stephan Zilias has been appointed as its new Music Director. He will step into the role in September 2026, at which point he will succeed Alejo Pérez. Zilias first worked with the company during the 2024/25 season, where he led a performance of Weber’s Der Freischütz in both Ghent and Antwerp. The University of West Florida Dr. Grier Williams School of Music will present the UWF Runge Strings in concert. The performance will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rolfs Music Hall at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts on the UWF Pensacola campus. In their first concert of the season, the UWF Runge Strings will perform Vivaldi’s “Summer” from Le Quattro Stagioni (The Four Seasons) featuring Dr. Leonid Yanovskiy as the violin soloist, joined by Dr. Hedi Salanki on the harpsichord.
