20 Years Ago, Nintendo Made The Most Aggressive Mario Game Ever

Mario’s never been a stranger to sports. But during the Nintendo GameCube era, the popular Italian plumber seemed more familiar scoring points on a field or court than he was jumping from platform to platform. While there’s no shortage of fantastic sports spin-offs starring Mario and his Mushroom Kingdom friends, one of them reigned supreme for the pure fun factor. In 2005, Super Mario Strikers saw Mario finally taking to soccer, one of the few sports he hadn’t yet conquered, creating one of the most timeless pick-up-and-play experiences in all of gaming.Like any great Mario sports game, Strikers is focused squarely on taking the real-life, high-stakes actual sport and making it an approachable good time that anyone can enjoy. Strikers turns the 11-on-11 sport into a more readable five-on-f...

This prebuilt MSI gaming PC includes 32GB of DDR5-6000 RAM and an RTX 5060 GPU for $929 — a superb value system

I've recently been putting some systems together on behalf of some friends for Christmas presents, and getting hold of just the RAM alone has been a bit of a nightmare. Trying to find the DDR5 6000MHz memory kits you want on sale, in stock, or priced less than a black-market kidney has been difficult. Twice, already, I've recommended buying a prebuilt PC (which is not something I'd normally do when building them myself) as individual kits are bumping up the price of a PC build by hundreds of dollars. In contrast, prebuilt gaming PCs seem to be absorbing the RAM price increases, so far anyway, and this is basically the case with today's spotlighted deal. MSI's Codex R2 gaming PC is just $929, unbelievable value in the current climate. The MSI Codex R2 gaming PC features very decent compone...

Why Fortnite, Roblox Are Partnering With Hollywood

Two Sundays ago, I booted up my PlayStation 5 excited to watch a new, previously unreleased chapter from Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” saga. But instead of opening up Amazon, Netflix, YouTube or any of the dozen streamers that live on my PlayStation, I opened Fortnite. That’s because for the first time in the history of the free-to-play cross-platform game, Fortnite was the launch platform for this exclusive new Tarantino short. You heard that right. Oscar-winning, indie trailblazing auteur Quentin Tarantino and Fortnite, the shooter video game that has Gen Alpha (and beyond) enthralled. The unlikely pairing is the latest example of Hollywood cozying up to the video game industry. Last year, Disney announced a $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games, the company behind Fortnite. T...

The Top 10 Best Licensed Games Based on Movies

Ah, the licensed video game. Once a collection of underwhelming retellings of big-screen blockbusters, littered with haunting polygonal nightmares (Hagrid, that’s you) and aimless Atari attempts (yes, E.T., that’s you), we’ve seen an uptick in actually good adaptations in recent years, with the upcoming Terminator 2D: No Fate looking like a promising attempt at turning James Cameron’s classic into some enjoyable retro action. So, we thought we’d pick out the best of the bunch. We do have a few little rules, though, that stop just any old film-adjacent game from making the list. They need to either be:A direct translation or adaptation of a feature filmAn official movie sequel or prequel.Or a game that attempts to continue the story or provide backstory and additional canonical lore.Termina...

Marvel’s Blade 2026 (The Game): Release Window, Developers & Full Gameplay Overview

Marvel’s Blade is one of the most intriguing upcoming superhero games, and it stands out immediately because of the team behind it: Arkane Lyon, the award-winning studio known for Dishonored and Deathloop. Marvel Games and Bethesda Softworks officially confirmed the project as a mature, third-person, single-player action game starring the iconic Daywalker, Eric Brooks. The announcement sent a shockwave through the gaming community, not just because Blade is an underused Marvel character in modern gaming, but because Arkane’s commitment to immersive storytelling and atmospheric world design aligns perfectly with the darker tone of Blade’s universe. The game is set in a quarantined section of Paris, where a sudden outbreak of supernatural activity forces civilians indoors and turns the city s...
