12 Items on Eliza Huber’s Spring 2026 Fashion-Editor Wish List

Since I'm not a buyer, inspecting runway collections for pieces to order isn't technically part of my job, but it is something I take very seriously for personal reasons. Yes, I'm trend scouting for Who What Wear, but I also like to study the catwalks for my own wish lists, and my spring 2026 version is filled to the brim with It items I can't wait to buy. Think Prada Frankenstein skirts, Chanel suede mules, and the new Loewe one-handle bag that Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough debuted in their first collection since leaving Proenza Schouler and joining the Spanish house. Those are just the highlights, though. If there's one thing I like to do, it's shop (and plan ahead), so you know my spring 2026 fashion-editor wish list is long.Of course, some shows were more shoppable than others, ...

The Best Winter 2025 Fashion Trends for Petites, According to a Petite Fashion Editor

Even as a fashion editor, I always find winter a particularly difficult time to navigate petite dressing. While most are waxing lyrical about the excitement that comes with slipping on their snuggliest jumpers or pulling together expertly crafted layered looks, I find that many of the traditional winter trends aren’t designed with petite frames in mind. Often they rely on oversized shapes, chunky weaves and swathes of material that tend to overwhelm petite heights. As a result, I’ve always found dressing at this time of year never fills me with quite as much joy as during the spring, summer and even the autumn months. This year, however, I vowed to change my ways and fall in love with winter dressing once again. How? I’ve set out to discover which of winter 2025’s biggest trends can easily ...

Fashion is at the center of a climate reality check at COP30

As COP30 continues in Belém, Brazil, fashion’s climate-friendly rhetoric is bumping up against the reality of rising emissions in the industry. On one side, a United Nations effort reflecting a who’s who of fashion shared an open letter asking world leaders to speed up a clean and just energy transition. Meanwhile, though, fashion supply chain emissions rose 7.5 percent in 2023, according to the Apparel Impact Institute, and only 7 percent of major brands disclose their renewable energy efforts, according to the latest What Fuels Fashion report. Consulting firm McKinsey has calculated that if nothing changes fashion’s greenhouse gas emissions could increase from roughly 2 billion metric tons in 2018 to 2.7 billion by 2030. What the U.N. charter wants The U.N.’s Fashion Industry Ch...

New Tehran Fashion Week set to test Iran’s morality limits

For decades, Iran’s Public Culture Council and the National Foundation for Islamic-Iranian Fashion and Clothing have strictly overseen what they call “chaste attire.” Tehran held fashion events in 2014 and 2015, where the designs were limited to “modest fashion”—long coats, scarves and loose forms approved by authorities. No later editions followed the events due to the official denial of permits. This year’s revival of Tehran Fashion Week was folded into Tehran Design Week, a government-approved initiative showcasing design, furniture and art. Yet despite official oversight, photos and videos showed a strikingly freer atmosphere. Some female models appeared at the events without headscarves, wearing tight-fitting western-style outfits, and many visitors ignored the mandatory hijab altogethe...

A Study of Reverie: Cornell Fashion Collective Fall Runway Show

This past Friday, the Cornell Fashion Collective hosted their annual fall fashion show, this time diverging from their regularly scheduled venues and choosing to spotlight their designers at Llenroc. Once housing the Delta Phi fraternity, Llenroc was also home to Ezra Cornell –– the historic manor drips in ornate crowning and opulent design much like the models bustling to get ready down below. A creaky wooden staircase leads you down to a brick-walled basement overflowing with creativity. Rooms shoot off each other, each one packed with models and designers preparing their looks. The long wooden tables are piled high with makeup, mirrors and water bottles; some models sit dressed head-to-toe in their looks while others lounge in sweatsuits. Each person is as different as the design they d...

Michelle Obama discusses her fashion evolution in a new book

WASHINGTON (AP) — On any day during her eight years as first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama said she could go from giving a speech to meeting with a counterpart from another country to digging in her vegetable garden with groups of schoolchildren. And her clothes had to be ready for that. There was too much else to do, including raising daughters Sasha and Malia, and she said she did not have time to obsess over what she was wearing. “I was concerned about, ‘Can I hug somebody in it? Will it get dirty?’” she said Wednesday night during a moderated conversation about her style choices dating to growing up on the South Side of Chicago to when she found herself in the national spotlight as the first Black woman to be first lady. “I was the kind of first lady that there was no tellin...
