Auburn slams the door on a series win in dominant fashion

The Auburn Tigers took down the Kentucky Wildcats to earn a much-needed series win 11-0 to move them to 8-7 in SEC play. The near perfect game for the Tigers came with the help of a great offensive showing where they totaled 14 hits with only two strikeouts in addition to a great outing on from Alex Petrovic. “Amazing,” Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said about the game as a whole. “And I think on the heels, when you’re in a game three in a rubber match in this league, just historically, it’s a big deal. But man, there was so much energy put in that ball game last night trying to claw all the way back in the fight on the mound. Our at-bats on 5-0 and 5-4, just all of it, so you never know how we’re going to out that third game.” With starter Petrovic on the bump the Auburn was in need o...

For this instalment, we hear from Jessika Swarbrick, Brand Manager at Variety Hour, a Melbourne-based fashion label and design studio. Jessika is what she calls “an accidental designer”. Despite growing up with a love for fashion (something she credits to being dressed in Pumpkin Patch from an early age), it wasn’t a pathway she considered p...

The final touches to drag queen Addie Raw’s look — lashes, last-minute outfit tweaks and a quick style to their hair — are made possible by the help of other queens. Addie Raw (Syracuse University sophomore Ivy Monroe) has a drag mother back in Arkansas who inspired her look and personality onstage. “She taught me how to do my makeup, she taught me how to dance, what moves to do, what moves not to do,” Monroe said. “She taught me good things and bad things. She sat me down to watch drag and taught me everything I needed to know.” Monroe felt that same sense of camaraderie from fellow drag queens on Saturday at SU Pride Union’s 24th annual Student Drag Show finale. ...

How to refresh your closet this spring

Sarah Screams (Fashion Advice) is The Michigan Daily’s biweekly fashion advice column. Submit your questions here! I have fantastic news.  I bought knee-high brown boots. It’s officially April, the season of failed finals and false springs, which means I need the absolute smallest sliver of joy more than ever. As I’m writing this, the University of Michigan’s men’s basketball team has not (yet) won, but to be clear, having these boots that I have coveted for the better part of two years is an equivalent feeling for me. So, Daily Sports Writers, please don’t have my head for this bold declaration. Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’ll have to move my two full closets’ worth of clothes to my new-to-me-but-definitely-rundown college house quite soon. Currently, I’ve got a pleasa...

It Girls in Paris Are Wearing This “Dated” Shoe With Barrel Jeans

Another week, another deep dive into the outfit formulas and trends that chic dressers in Paris are wearing. While we love to keep tabs on the Parisian style set, this time our attention turned to Halle Berry, who was spotted in the city showcasing an unexpected, elevated denim look featuring two trends you wouldn't typically associate with the city's aesthetic: heeled clogs and barrel-leg jeans. Her ensemble consisted of a rust-colored belted long coat, a white blouse, the aforementioned barrel-leg jeans, black heeled clogs with gold embellishments, and oversize sunglasses.Berry's look was a refreshing, sophisticated departure from the typical Parisian aesthetic. Parisian style, whether worn by locals or visitors, generally favors a clean, curated look centered on a capsule wardrobe of ut...
