Greek-Australian Triantis earns first call-up to Greece national team

[AP] Greek-Australian defensive midfielder Nectarios Triantis has received his first call-up to Greece’s national soccer team, joining Serb coach Ivan Jovanovic’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Belarus. Born in Sydney to Greek parents, the 22-year-old came through the A-League before moving to Europe. After impressing with Scotland’s Hibernian FC, Triantis transferred to Major League Soccer side Minnesota United earlier this year in a deal worth €2.5 million. ELSTAT: Greece Inflation Reaches 2% in October

Greece’s inflation in October reached 2%, edging up from 1.9% in September, according to figures released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT). However, the harmonized inflation rate, as measured by Eurostat, stood at 1.7%, placing Greece among the eurozone countries with the lowest price growth.On a monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 0.1% from September.
