The Alma College iGEM team has earned a silver medal at the 2025 iGEM Grand Jamboree in Paris, France — a global competition featuring more than 400 multidisciplinary teams from over 60 countries. The team’s award marks another major success for Alma and highlights the college’s growing strength in hands-on, collaborative science. Sony has whipped up its list of the most downloaded PlayStation Store titles for the month of October, and it turns out Japanese layers are really digging the adventures of Atsu in Ghost of Yōtei. Sucker Punch's epic samurai sequel is top of the PlayStation 5 download list in Japan, but it's relegated to second place in the west, where Battlefield 6 reigns supreme. Not that Battlefield 6 is slouching in Japan. It manages to secure second place in October, ahead of a top 20 featuring some excellent games. Silent Hill f, for instance, is Japan's seventh most downloaded PS5 title on the PlayStation Store, but is completely missing from the US, Canada, and EU charts. "I don't want fans to feel anxious." There's still no official release date for The Elder Scrolls 6 and there are very few known details. We may be about to see a whole new product line of Valve-made gaming hardware. Speculation suggests Valve has a new Steam Controller, virtual reality headset, and console-like device in development, and they may be revealed as soon as this week. The speculation seems to originate from trusted leaker Brad Lynch (SadlyItsBradley), who stoked the fires overnight by sharing an AI-generated mock-up of what he says the new Steam Controller will look like. Notably, the haptic thumbpads have moved towards the bottom of the controller whereas they used to be towards the top. The Yorkshire terrier, who has more than a million followers on TikTok, is one of a growing number of dogs who communicate with their owners by pressing electronic buttons. The paw-sized devices can be programmed to say different words, such as ‘walk’ or ‘hungry’, but they can also be loaded with profanities.
