Open world PS5 game Project Windless is part-God of War, part-Dynasty Warriors, and has a veteran Far Cry director as its lead

What a terrible day to be a God of War-like! You put on your fanciest bird suit for your big reveal, then a whole bunch of actual God of Wars come along and steal your thunder. But that's not to say Krafton's new open-world PlayStation 5 game Project Windless isn't intriguing. Project Windless is, for starters, based on an acclaimed series of South Korean high fantasy novels known as Bird That Drinks Tears. Four books have been released so far, all set in a world inhabited by four main races: the boring old humans, the reptilian Nhaga, the Tokkebi, and the bird-like Rekon. That's how we get Project Windless' perhaps somewhat unlikely looking protagonist. Project Windless reveal trailer.Watch on YouTube As per the PlayStation Blog, Project Windless (which is ...

Asteroid Bennu reveals a new pathway to life’s chemistry

When NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission returned material from asteroid Bennu in 2023, scientists confirmed that the 4.6 billion year old rocks contained amino acids, the essential molecules that make life possible. Amino acids are responsible for building proteins and peptides in DNA, and they are central to nearly every biological process. What remained unclear was how these molecules formed in space in the first place. New research led by scientists at Penn State suggests that at least some of Bennu's amino acids may have originated in extremely cold, radioactive conditions during the earliest stages of the solar system. The findings were published on Feb. 9 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. According to the team, the chemical signatures in Bennu's samples indicate that the...

Trump news at a glance: White House rejects climate science and opens door to more pollution | Trump administration

The move was described as a gift to “billionaire polluters” at the expense of Americans’ health. The endangerment finding, which states that the buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere endangers public health and welfare, has since 2009 allowed the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to limit heat-trapping pollution from vehicles, power plants and other industrial sources.Thursday’s decision removes the government’s ability to impose requirements to track, report and limit climate-heating pollution from cars and trucks. Turns out Game Freak’s “relatively small” internal team is supported by “several dozen” development partners for Beast of Reincarnation

Game Freak has shed a little more light on the "relatively small" internal team working on its upcoming release, Beast of Reincarnation. In Beast of Reincarnation, players take the role of Emma the Sealer, who along with her canine companion Koo will need to confront the source of the world's corruption to save humanity. Earlier this year, it was revealed that while Game Freak - which is also known for its work on the Pokémon series - is developing Beast of Reincarnation, it has enlisted the help of other studios to support its work. "We're lucky to have a lot of people working on it externally as well," the developer said in January. Now, following the debut of the game's latest trailer (see further down in this article), I was able to ask game director Kota Furushima a few questions abou...
