Newly released body camera video shows a former Milwaukee Police detective lying to fellow officers about having her firearm after a drunk driving crash. Detective Nicole Swenson was fired from the Milwaukee Police Department after the March 2024 incident at Hawley and State streets. The body camera footage, released after TMJ4's year-long investigation, shows Swenson denying she was the driver and that she had a firearm in her car when officers asked during the crash investigation. A pull-over for a faulty taillight led to a Florida man's arrest. On Tuesday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) conducted a traffic stop near West Hillsborough Avenue and Sawyer Road. Deputy body camera video shows the suspect, identified as Luis Serrano, being pulled over at a gas station and speaking with law enforcement. As HCSO deputies show Serrano, 53, where the bad light is, they notice a wad of cash being held in his hand. "I work in the club," the suspect can be heard saying.
