Latasha Brown, a public school teacher, has filed a lawsuit against Tru by Hilton and several management companies, alleging that hotel staff negligently gave her estranged husband a key to her room, allowing him to kidnap and assault her. The suit, filed in Orangeburg County, South Carolina, claims that her husband—who was not a registered guest—entered her room early on September 20, 2024, and held her captive for several hours before she escaped.
