Celtic star reveals fan interaction that made him feel like ‘real human’


A Celtic star has revealed his favourite-ever fan encounter.

Centre-back Auston Trusty opened up about the moment during a recent social media Q&A where he answered a series of questions from supporters.

The American defender said the interaction took place shortly after the birth of his daughter.

He shared that when his fans congratulated him on the birth, it made him feel like a “real human.”

He said: “I never would have thought that my baby would be born in Scotland or that I would get married here.

“To have those taking place in Glasgow means the world to me.”

When asked about his favourite Glasgow slang, he picked “mate” as the word that had grown on him the most since moving to Scotland.

The American also had some advice for fans travelling to the United States for the World Cup.

He recommended they try US fast-food favourite Chic-fil-A, describing it as a must-try.

His journey with Celtic will continue later this month with a European fixture.

The Glasgow side will travel to Germany to face VfB Stuttgart in the second leg of their Europa League play-off tie.

Celtic reached the play-offs following a 4-2 win over FC Utrecht.
