Celtics at Trail Blazers Prop Bets for Sunday 12/28/25

ZT details his best player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Sunday night’s matchup between the Celtics and Trail Blazers.

The NBA has six games on the board this Sunday with three waves of two games. At 6:00 p.m. ET, the Celtics visit the Trail Blazers in an interesting inter-conference matchup. Let’s take a look at each squad and find some player prop bets to target on Sunday on DraftKings Sportsbook.

In the broader picture, the Celtics are 7.5-point road favorites in Portland, while the game total is set at a below-average 229.5 points. This will be the first of two matchups between these teams this season.

The Celtics have won four straight and nine of their last 11. They’ve relied on Jaylen Brown in the absence of Jayson Tatum (Achilles) and are 19-11. On the other side of the matchup, the Blazers are 12-19 after three straight losses and six losses in their last nine contests.

It should be a fun contest between these frequent trade partners, so let’s see which players are set to step up with my top player prop bets for this contest:

Celtics at Trail Blazers Best Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Deni Avdija under 42.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-117)

Avdija has been excellent for the Trail Blazers this season and has carried a big workload, but I don’t think he’ll be able to get all the way to 43 PRA (points, rebounds and assists).

On the season, he’s averaging 39.4 PRA with 25.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 6.6 assists. He had 29 points, nine rebounds and nine assists for 47 PRA on Friday against the Clippers. Before that, though, he had been under this total in six of his previous seven games.

The Celtics are a tough matchup for both small forwards and point guards, and since Avdija plays in both spots, he will face tough matchups in either spot. Since the game is expected to be lower scoring as well, Avdija should be held under this total.

Derrick White over 18.5 points (-116)

White is averaging 18.3 points per game on the season as he helps pick up usage with Tatum out. The point guard has been very good on defense and has also been more active in the offense.

In eight of his last 10 games, White has gone over this prop line, including scoring 21 and 19 points in back-to-back blowout wins over the Pacers on both sides of Christmas.

The Blazers won’t have either former-Celtic Jrue Holiday (calf) or Scoot Henderson (hamstring), which has left them short-handed in the backcourt and relying on Avdija. Defensively, though, they have struggled against the position, which should set White up for a solid total Sunday night.

Kris Murray over 11.5 Points + Rebounds (-104)

The Blazers will be without Robert Williams (injury management) and Jerami Grant (Achilles) in the frontcourt as well. Grant has missed five straight games, and Murray has been one of the main beneficiaries of the extra playing time and usage.

Murray has started each of the four games that Grant has missed and averaged 7.8 points and 4.8 rebounds in 30.5 minutes per game. He has gone over this line in two of his four starts and has at least 10 points and rebounds in four of his last five.

With Avdija a little more under wraps and the way the Celtics use lots of forwards and wings, I think Murray has a good shot of getting at least 12 points and rebounds.

Bonus Parlay Pick:   Jaylen Brown over 1.5 3PM (-174)

If you’re looking to use these props to create a Same Game Parlay (SGP) or as part of an SGPx, one other leg you can add to the mix is the over on Brown’s 3PM. The four legs in this post combine to be a +900 SGP, as you can see below.

Brown has made multiple threes in three straight games and in seven of his last eight. He’s averaging 2.1 3PM per game on the season and 2.5 3PM per game on the road.
