The Celtics are set to enter the NBA playoffs with a full 15-man roster after filling their final open spot on Saturday.
Boston signed veteran guard Dalano Banton to a rest-of-season contract, according to the NBA transaction wire.
It’s the third Celtics stint for Banton, who spent part of the 2023-24 season with the team and returned on a 10-day contract earlier this year. The 26-year-old has appeared in 221 career games for four NBA franchises, including 27 with the Celtics.
Banton’s signing ahead of Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Orlando Magic plugged a roster spot that Boston had left vacant since the start of the season.
The Celtics, who clinched the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference on Friday, will head into the postseason with a projected starting lineup of Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, Sam Hauser, Jayson Tatum and Neemias Queta, and a bench featuring Payton Pritchard, Nikola Vucevic, Baylor Scheierman, Jordan Walsh, Hugo Gonzalez, Luka Garza, Ron Harper Jr., Amari Williams, Max Shulga and Banton.
