Iranian state media claims combat units from Russia’s Chechen Republic are ready to deploy to Iran if the United States launches a ground invasion. According to reports, fighters loyal to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov could join Iranian forces if US troops move beyond air and missile strikes.
Chechen commander Apti Alaudinov has reportedly said his Akhmat units are waiting for orders from Russian President Vladimir Putin if the conflict expands. Iranian outlets say more than a million fighters, including Revolutionary Guard units and Basij volunteers, have been mobilised amid the escalating US-Israeli war against Iran.
The claims come as Washington discusses possible ground operations around key strategic locations including Kharg Island and the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran has warned that any invasion would trigger a massive response, raising fears that the conflict could pull in foreign fighters and expand beyond the region.
