Christmas Movie Filming in Paris Kentucky

When I heard the phrase “Christmas in Paris,” I thought, “Isn’t that a really old Christmas movie from way back in the day?” Google answered with a firm “no.” It’s a really young Christmas movie that Hallmark gave us in 2019.

The reason I heard the phrase “Christmas in Paris” is that film crews have once again come to Kentucky to shoot a holiday movie. Kentucky must ooze Christmas vibes. A few years ago, Somerset, Kentucky, was the backdrop for multiple holiday films. More recently, Owensboro and Henderson got their jingle on in a similar fashion. Now it’s time for Paris, Kentucky, to get ready for its close-up.

Christmas Movie in Paris, KY

Sure, “Christmas in Paris” would have been a great title, but Hallmark got there first. But Silver Bells Christmas sounds plenty jolly and packed with Yuletide spirit.

On Thursday, crews shut down downtown Paris, the Eiffel Tower replica, and all, for a late afternoon/early evening shoot. Locals were invited to participate, and shop owners complied with the festivities by loading up their windows with winter clothing that, for the most part, we don’t need anymore this year. While it was a relatively warm day, game participants showed up wearing winter coats, gloves, scarves, and hats. It’s a Christmas movie; you need to look cold.

So far, nothing has been revealed about the plot of the film, nor do we have an official release date. But we know it’s a Christmas movie, so at least that gives us a “neighborhood.” Silver Bells Christmas will air on The Great American Family Network.
