The Greenville City Council took action during its December meeting to amend its gaming ordinance.
The ordinance limited the number of video gaming terminals in the city, but it was realized the city can not legally do this because it is not a home-ruled community.
The ordinance was changed by the council on a vote of 5-0. From now on, any gaming license would only be signed by the mayor.
Gaming licenses will still be tied to small businesses having valid liquor licenses from the city and state.
