‘Playdate’

Kevin James and Alan Ritchson plan a playdate in Prime Video’s latest offering. The action comedy follows Brian (James) and Jeff (Ritchson), two parents who decide to spend an easy-going afternoon with their sons, tossing footballs and engaging in small talk. Yet, they are instead thrust into a chaotic scramble to stay alive, as ruthless mercenaries hunt them down. While Brian has no physical strength for battle, Jeff is oddly prepared to face the criminals head on. ‘Bat-Fam’

A new Batman animated series has arrived on streaming, and it functions as a spin-off to the 2023 hit holiday film, Merry Little Batman. ‘Murder at the Embassy’

‘Thing With Feathers’

Grief can come in various shapes and forms, and Thing With Feathers displays that full well. Based on Max Porter’s novella, the film follows Dad (Benedict Cumberbatch) as he strives to keep it together for his young boys after his wife’s death. One of the ways he copes with grief, is by getting even more focused on his work as a graphic novelist. In turn, one of his creations, a gigantic crow (voiced by David Thewlis), leaves the page and becomes an ever-present figure in Dad’s daily life. This unhinged and unwanted house guest turns out to be exactly what the protagonist needs to move forward. As part of our week of exclusives, we have debuted the above image from the upcoming documentary The King of Color, scheduled for release in December 2025. Directed by Patrick Creadon, this inspiring documentary looks at the life of Larry Herbert, the inventor of the Pantone Matching System, and uncovers the way in which he changed the universal language of color forever. The synopsis for the doc reads:
“At 96 years old, Larry Herbert, known as THE KING OF COLOR, is a visionary whose revolutionary idea to standardize color remains largely unrecognized. ‘The Things You Kill’

This Turkish thriller explores the aftermath of revenge, when guilt and darkness take over. The Things You Kill follows Ali (Ekin Koç), a progressive university professor who is torn between academic work in Ankara and staying in a small town caring for his mother who is ill. ‘Not Without Hope’
Release Date: December 12, 2025
Based on a true story, Not Without Hope follows Nick Schuyler (Zachary Levi) and his three friends on a fishing trip off the coast of Florida, and get stranded in the sea after their boat capsizes. With a massive storm approaching, the group must battle hypothermia, dehydration, and rely on their limited resources for survival. The film, much like the real events that inspired it, shows that Nick was the only one who made it out alive. In bringing this project to the screen, Levi was very mindful of honoring both the character he was portraying, but also honoring those who perished at sea. In an interview with Collider, he shared the following about telling this story:
“I think being able to be a part of true stories is always very powerful, and particularly ones that show incredible perseverance in the face of insurmountable odds. And, Nick’s story is a powerful one, and quite literally, as is based in the name, it is not without hope. He was always just holding onto that last shred of hope in the odds that were against all of those odds. So to be able to tell a story like that is, I think that that’s important in this industry.”

‘Shetland’ Season 10

‘100 Nights of Hero’

After garnering acclaim at the Venice International Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival, with critics deeming it a “magnificent queer fairy tale” and naming director Julia Jackman as “one of the most exciting up-and-coming voices in independent cinema”, ‘100 Nights of Hero’ will soon arrive on the big screen. ‘Cross’ Season 2

‘Emily in Paris’ Season 5

There’s been a lot of online chatter about whether Lucas Bravo will indeed be back for Emily in Paris Season 5, after being noticeably absent from the series’ trailer. Yet, after a production still came out of Gabriel, fans’ worries began to cease. ‘The Plague’
Release Date: December 24, 2025
Just as fans gear up for his critically acclaimed lead performance in the upcoming Train Dreams, another Joel Edgerton project is starting to gain attention. Writer/director Charlie Polinger‘s The Plague stars Edgerton among a cast of young talent, as they tell the tale of a 12-year-old boy at a water polo camp as he is pulled into a cruel tradition with chaotic consequences. ‘A Thousand Blows’ Season 2

Peaky Blinders fans are waiting with bated breath for any news on a release date for the upcoming movie. Whilst the assumption remains that Steven Knight‘s magnum opus series will return at some point next year, there is at least confirmation that, in January 2026, we will see the return of another of his gritty projects. The Stephen Graham-led A Thousand Blows, which previously received plenty of acclaim for its first outing, returns to the ring for Season 2 in January 2026. ‘Scarlet’

Anime director Mamoru Hosoda drew inspiration from Hamlet in his latest epic, Scarlet. ‘Blue Lights’ Season 3

Belfast’s group of “peelers” we’ve grown to love are returning to the screen with Blue Lights Season 3. The BritBox cop drama is back on a weekly basis, following Grace (Siân Brooke), Annie (Katherine Devlin), and Tommy (Nathan Braniff) and more on their day-to-day rounds, coming in contact with community members and hardened criminals. ‘Little Disasters’
Release Date: December 11, 2025
Sarah Vaughan‘s novel, Little Disasters, will be adapted into a Paramount + series led by none other than Diane Krueger. The latter will play Jess, one of four expectant mothers who have a decade-long friendship. When the protagonist takes her baby daughter to the hospital for a head injury that she can’t explain, Liz, her friend and on-duty ER doctor, must decide whether to report Jess to social services. Instead of giving Jess the benefit of the doubt, Liz makes a call that will cause a ripple effect that will not only destroy their bond, but will impact the friend group’s dynamic altogether. ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’

Paramount + continues to expand the Star Trek universe, this time focusing on the next generation of starship captains, commanders, pilots, navigators, science officers, and more, within the academic setting. ‘Ella McCay’
