Cooper Flagg’s game-worn jersey from his 2025 NBA debut recently sold for a record $1 million, and now the NBA and Sotheby’s are auctioning other debut jerseys from the league’s top rookies.
Earlier this month, Flagg’s rookie jersey from his Oct. 22, 2025 NBA debut was sold for $1 million in a private sale by Sotheby’s. The price was a record for a game-worn jersey sold through NBA Auctions and the highest price for any Flagg memorabilia to date.
The top overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Flagg has taken the league by storm, becoming the youngest player in league history to score 40 points in a game, record double-digit assists and post multiple 25-point performances. Just 19, he broke the NBA record for points by a teenager with 49. In his debut, Flagg recorded a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and a steal. In his first 49 games, he’s averaging 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists, while shooting 48 percent from the field.
“The $1 million result for Cooper Flagg’s rookie debut jersey is a powerful testament to the significance collectors place on true ‘first moments’ in sport,” Brahm Wachter, Sotheby’s head of modern collectibles, said through Sotheby’s. “This jersey captures the very beginning of a special career, one carrying huge expectations and excitement.”
Following the Flagg sale, Sotheby’s and the NBA are auctioning other NBA rookie jerseys through the NBA Rookie Debut Auction March 17–23. The event features NBA debut game jerseys from such top rookies as V.J. Edgecombe, Kon Knueppel, Dylan Harper and Derik Queen.
Edgecombe produced an historic performance for the Philadelphia 76ers in his Oct. 22, 2025 debut, scoring 34 points in 42 minutes against the Boston Celtics. He set a franchise record for the most points in a debut, marking the third-highest total by a rookie in NBA history and the most since Wilt Chamberlain’s 1959 debut.
Knueppel has emerged as one of the league’s top rookies, averaging 19 points and 5 rebounds while becoming the fastest player in NBA history make 100 3-pointers. He has made 183 3-pointers in his first 54 games for the Charlotte Hornets, one of the league’s hottest and most improved teams.
Harper, the No. 2 pick in the 2025 draft, scored 15 points in his NBA debut and is averaging 10.9 points and 3.7 assists for the San Antonio Spurs.
Queen made history as the first rookie center to record a 30-point triple-double. He is averaging 12.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists for the New Orleans Pelicans.
