STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team moved to 10-1 on the year with a record-setting victory on Saturday afternoon, registering a 133-46 win over Mississippi Valley State in front of 2,674 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The No. 24 Cowgirls set school marks for points in a game (133), field-goal percentage (67.2 percent), margin of victory (87) and points in a quarter (44).
OSU jumped out to a 13-3 lead before the Devilettes got within four at 16-12 with three minutes to go. Amari Whiting would score as time expired in the frame to give OSU a 24-14 advantage. Achol Akot made all four of her shots and led the Cowgirls with eight points.
The Cowgirls exploded in the second with their school-record 44 points with Micah Gray pouring in 17 points in the frame. The senior drilled five of her six 3-point attempts to move into ninth place on the school’s all-time made 3-pointers chart. She now has 113 in just one-plus season with the program.
OSU would lead 68-27 at the break.
The Cowgirls would shoot 81 percent (13-16) in the third quarter on their way to a 37-point frame. OSU would hit the century mark with a minute to go in the period.
For the second time this season, seven Cowgirls scored in double figures with Stailee Heard leading the way with 26 points. Jadyn Wooten tallied a double-double with 12 points and a career-high 13 assists, while Gray finished with 21 points on the day.
Whiting finished with 12 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks.
