MT. PLEASANT — A weekend filled with discovery, creativity, and hands-on fun is coming to Sanpete County as the Crystal Festival returns this spring with an exciting lineup of activities for all ages.
The Crystal Festival — A Rocks, Minerals, Gems, & Crystal Show — will take place April 4-5, 2026, at the Mt Pleasant Recreation Center. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days, offering free admission and free parking, making it an accessible and affordable outing for families across the region.
Organized by Crystal Festival LLC and led by event director Adrienne McElwain, the festival has quickly grown into one of the area’s most anticipated spring events. This year’s festival also carries a meaningful purpose, serving as a fundraiser for the science department at Fountain Green Elementary School, helping support educational opportunities and inspire young minds in the fields of science and geology.
Visitors can expect a vibrant marketplace featuring more than a dozen vendors offering everything from fine minerals and rare fossils to handmade jewelry, lapidary art, and unique crystal gifts. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet mine owners, mineralogists, geologists, artists, and crystal enthusiasts, creating a dynamic environment for learning and connection. Information on regional rockhounding adventures will also be available for those eager to explore Utah’s rich geological landscape.
A major highlight of the festival is the Kid’s Corner, designed to engage younger attendees with interactive, hands-on activities. Children can participate in an Easter egg hunt, build their own rock and mineral discovery kits, or create and decorate their own pet rocks. Individual activities are affordably priced, with an all-access option available for $20 per child, making it easy for families to tailor the experience to their interests.

Colorful gemstone bracelets and handcrafted jewelry line a vendor display at the Crystal Festival, where attendees can browse a wide selection of minerals, crystals, and artisan creations during the two-day event in Mt. Pleasant.
Guests will also find a variety of local and regional vendors and groups, including Wishing Forest, Rock-N-Fossil, Rock On Minerals, Konstanz Silverbow, the Stampede Rock and Gem Club, LoveRocks, and Girl Scout Troop 1400, among others. Each brings its own unique perspective and passion for rocks, minerals, and creative expression.
The festival is presented by Crystal Barista and aims to bring the community together through a shared appreciation of natural beauty and creativity. Whether attendees are seasoned collectors, hobbyists, artists, or simply curious families looking for a fun weekend activity, the Crystal Festival promises something for everyone.
For those looking to take a piece of the experience home, the event will also feature the children’s book Addy’s Adventures: Rock Collecting, written by McElwain, offering a fun and educational introduction to the world of rock collecting.
