The Scene: Last Thursday, CULTURED and eBay hosted its second annual party to kick off London Fashion Week, with several fashionable guests spotted in head-to-toe pre-loved eBay pieces. The magazine’s contributing fashion director, Alexandra Cronan (sporting a Prada silk beaded handbag from eBay), and fashion tastemaker Camille Charrière ushered in the evening’s guests with trays of brimming martini glasses. Charrière donned a vintage mink stole over a white sheath dress (in fact, fuzzy hems were everywhere—fur is really back). Meanwhile Cronan kept it uncomplicated in a sleeveless LBD.
The Locale: Along the winding streets of Notting Hill, guests tucked into Cece’s (a new restaurant concept taking over the former Casa Cruz digs) and brought some old school glamour to the first hours of London fashion’s biggest week-long fête.
The Crowd: The room teemed with people shaping how we dress, shop, and entertain ourselves. Guests included fashion designers Sinéad O’Dwyer and Jana Sascha Havman; actors Jessie Andrews, Sandra Yi Sencindiver, and Sagar Radia; models Amalie Gassmann and Jazzy de Lisser; CULTURED‘s European Contributor Georgina Cohen; perfumer Yasmin Sewell; artists Charlotte Rose Smith and Leila Bartell; stylists Vanessa Coyle and Poppy Kain; fashion editor Henrik Lischke; Vogue’s European Shopping Director Naomi Smart, and British Vogue‘s Senior Sustainability & Features Editor, Emily Chan.
Food and Drink: Mezcal cocktails, dirty martinis, and canapés were served all evening—arriving through a bespoke menu curated by Cece’s chef.
The Occasion: News had just dropped about eBay’s acquisition of Depop, a move set to shape the future of fashion resale, and the after-hours event buzzed with anticipation for the coming days’ runways and looks ahead—with all the tunes curated by DJ Emma Shenkman.
A true celebration of art, film, and fashion, the evening set the tone for an unforgettable start to London Fashion Week.
