Dara Takes Us Burberry FW26

Burberry FW26

Another fashion week, another snow storm. All flights out of New York were canceled yesterday so we drove four hours to Boston to catch a flight to London just in time to make it to the Burberry FW26 show. The hot gossip at the Burberry luncheon was that most American editors won’t even make it to Milan Fashion Week until the last day of show. The girls are worried. Quelle horreur! Anyway, we MUST focus on the here and now. London! This season, Burberry creative director Daniel Lee takes us to Old Billingsgate, which apparently used to be the world’s largest fish market in the 19th century. Now, instead of fish, it’s a famous family reunion—”it” sisters Devon Lee Carlson and Sydney Lynn Carlson, mother-daughter supermodels Kate Moss and Lila Moss, Hamnet siblings Noah Jupe and Jacobi Jupe—so cute!

Elsewhere in the front row, Daisy Edgar Jones looking gorg kiki-ing with Grammy award-winning Olivia Dean under a replica of the Tower Bridge—the real one just outside on the waterfront. Very meta. There were even puddles all over the runway. I accidentally stepped in a few too many much to security’s chagrin—thank god they were fake and made of vinyl or something. No muddy heels here. Heartbreak feels good in a place like this! On the fashion front, the opening look started out strong with a ruffle-collared white trench while the rest of the collection was a little tougher and sexier. Lots of leather and high high heels—I just watched Pillion so I was feeling it heavy. The Brits have kink, punk, and nightlife in their blood. There was a jacket adorned with what I assume was a map of London, which is great if you get too lit at the afterparty and get lost on the way home. Phone dead, call help. Wait—mine’s at one percent. Bye!!!
