BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Texas A&M’s Ecology and Evolutionary Biology program is hosting Darwin Day 2026, an annual celebration of biology inspired by Charles Darwin’s legacy of curiosity and scientific investigation. The event will be held at the Texas A&M Gardens on Feb. 27 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore hands-on science demonstrations created by Texas A&M research labs and local organizations. Families, students and community members can engage directly with scientists and learn about topics such as animal behavior, pollinator conservation, evolutionary biology and local wildlife.
Past activities have included beetle races, falconry demonstrations, flint knapping, microscope stations and nature-themed art.
“Darwin Day is designed to make science approachable, interactive, and fun,” organizers said.
The evening will include food trucks, vendors, local artists and a scavenger hunt through the gardens. Admission is free.
