NEWBURGH, Ind. (WFIE) – New year, new parents. A well-known couple is kicking off 2026 with newborn baby!
Deaconess officials tell us Baby Cochren was born at The Women’s Hospital at 1:41 a.m. on Jan. 1, 202, and weighs 8 lbs 9.9 ounces.
Officials say the baby’s parents are Leah and Michael Cochren of Montgomery, and both mom and baby are healthy and resting comfortably.
The couple is known for their Christian music group, Cochren & Co., which has over a million monthly listeners on Spotify.
“We are both so thankful and excited to have our precious New Year’s blessing,” Michael Cochren said. “We are also thankful for the wonderful staff of doctors and nurses at the Deaconess Women’s Hospital. My 97-year-old grandmother told me at Christmas that she wanted our baby to be one of the first born in 2026. I guess she called it! All glory to God for this answer to our prayers.”
The Women’s Hospital officials say they are happy to be a part of bringing the area’s first baby into the world.
