Distiller Music Publishing and Alternative Songs sign Poppy Baskcomb to global publishing deal | Publishing

Distiller Music Publishing and Alternative Songs have announced a joint venture co-signing of Poppy Baskcomb to a worldwide publishing agreement.

The news arrives as the singer-songwriter celebrates her debut UK Top 40 singles chart hit as an artist with Think About Us, a collaboration with Sonny Fodera and D.O.D.

It marks her third overall UK Top 40 singles chart entry as a songwriter, following previous hits including I Wish by Joel Corry feat. Mabel and Good Love by Hannah Laing & RoRo.

Baskcomb is also currently enjoying Top 10 album chart success with her collaboration on the new Sub Focus album, Contact, where she features as an artist and songwriter on the track So Many Colours and has a writing credit on Roll Too Deep. The London-based songwriter and vocalist has previously collaborated with Tiësto and Meduza.

Baskcomb has more than 1.5 billion streams across her catalogue and seven million monthly listeners.

Following her recent performance supporting Sonny Fodera on his UK arena tour, she joins Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics UK Arena tour this month which culminates in two shows at London’s O2 Arena.

Poppy Baskcomb said: “Signing this deal feels like a really important step for me. I’ve built my career in dance music, but I’ve always had a pull towards the storytelling and emotion you get in pop, R&B and even country. This partnership gives me the freedom to explore that side of my writing and try things I’ve wanted to tap into for a long time. What really sealed it for me was the vibe: Dave, Danny, and Claire are genuinely good people, and it felt like the right fit straight away.”

Chris McIlvenny, of Three Six Zero, said: “Poppy is the hardest-working artist I’ve ever managed. Over the past five years she has become one of the most important writers and voices in global dance music. I have always known she is capable of working across all genres. Claire, Dave and Danny share that vision. They have built an incredible A&R team, which makes working with them a truly unique proposition. It is exciting for Poppy to be surrounded by such a world-class team.”

Dave Bianchi, joint CEO at Alternative Songs, said: “Poppy is an incredible talent as her track record and current hits clearly show. We are looking forward to working alongside her manager Chris McIlvenny to continue the journey and diversify her talent into new areas.”
