MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – It’s a family affair for a mother-daughter director duo who are collaborating to bring you Edgewood High School’s production of The Sound of Music.
Different groups of actors will be performing on different dates because there are so many students who want to be involved in this production.
Edgewood High School staged this musical briefly in 2020, 1997 and 1983.
WMTV spoke with Directors Olivia and Rebessa De Waart on Monday. Rebecca explained how they are drawing influence from previous productions while taking creative liberty.
“Every production of The Sound of Music is similar in many ways but also as you said, everyone has a unique take on it,” Rebessa said. “We loved looking at the costumes and the production and the set for this one.”
Performances will take place from November 19-23 at the McKinley Performing Arts Center.
