NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Metropolitan Action Commission (MAC) announced that the Emergency Winter Housing Assistance Program will reopen in late April.
Come April 27, the program will reopen to support Nashville and Davidson County residents who continue to face financial hardships following Winter Storm Fern and the State of Emergency declared on January 26, 2026.
The program provides financial support to residents who experienced property damage, loss of income, hotel expenses or other hardships.

“In addition to mortgage and rental support, EWHAP has now expanded to cover utility payments, including natural gas, electricity, and water. Residents previously approved for EWHAP housing assistance are also eligible for utility support,” MAC announced.
MAC also implemented updated income guidelines, so applicants who were previously denied due to their income exceeding earlier limits may now qualify.
Eligibility requirements:
- Be a Davidson County resident
- Have experienced damage or hardship caused by Winter Storm Fern
- Meet the revised income limit of100% Area Median Income (AMI)
The application portal reopens on Monday, April 27.
