Europa League playoff round predictions

Red Star vs Lille

A lack of goals is becoming a real concern for Lille, who have failed to score more than once in any of their last 12 matches.

That includes last week’s 1-0 home defeat to an improving Red Star, who also beat Les Dogues 1-0 at the Marakana in November.

Red Star won at Malmo in January to kick off an eight-game unbeaten start to 2026 and usually do their best work in Belgrade.

They can follow up their victory at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy with another success.

Bologna vs Brann

Santiago Castro scored the only goal in Bergen and Bologna are worth backing to record another victory to nil in the second leg against Brann.

The Rossoblu have endured an inconsistent campaign but they have now won three on the bounce, beating Torino 2-1 and then Udinese 1-0 either side of their first-leg success.

Brann only just sneaked into the knockouts, finishing 24th in the standings, failing to win away from home, drawing twice and losing twice.

The pair drew 0-0 at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara during the league phase, but Bologna can go one better by recording another win without conceding.

Celta Vigo vs PAOK

A 2-1 win in Thessaloniki has put Celta Vigo in a strong position to progress and a similar victory in the second leg feels likely.

Celta have won five of their last six games at the Estadio de Balaidos, following up their victory in Greece with a 2-0 win over Mallorca on Sunday.

This is the second time the teams have met this season in Galicia, where Claudio Giraldez’s side won 3-1 in October.

Both teams scored in all four of Celta’s home league-phase fixtures, and each of the Sky Blues’ three games since PAOK’s visit settled by a 2-1 scoreline, two of them in their favour.

There will be interest in the general 15-2 for a 2-1 home win and the hosts should progress with something to spare.
