There’s some interesting discourse happening online about European vs. American tourists!

It all started with this thread listing out things Americans shouldn’t wear if they’re going to Europe this summer:
Cargo shorts? OK.

And flip flops, trainers with every outfit, shirts with sports teams, clashing colors/patterns, andddd beach shorts? Alright, IDK about all of that!!

Needless to say, the reaction from Americans was quick. They started pointing out all of the ways to spot European tourists.

Another person joked, “instead you need to be wearing tight denim shorts and a Levi’s t shirt for some reason.”
And this person pointed out, “Europeans will say **** like this and then wear the most obnoxiously logo’d Abercrombie And Fitch t-shirt you’ve ever seen in your life.”
That wasn’t all! This American brought up Europeans’ love of factory-shredded jeans.
Another person said Europeans need to “stop wearing large print 2007 Aeropostale t-shirts.”

My personal favorite was this picture:
As this person said, the only thing missing is a “bookbag strapped TIGHT.”
Those tweets spiraled into another viral thread where someone asked, “do european tourists know they’re highly identifiable in america as well?”

To which this person pointed out a European “uniform” of sorts: “designer scarf, tight *** skinny jeans, white short sleeve top, smell like cigarettes at any given time ….”
There was this viral tweet:
And another joke: “europeans can easily spot american tourists because it’s often their first time seeing someone in a shirt that’s not from armani exchange.”
To sum it all up, as this American said, “Will consider this [fashion advice] provided you agree to learn the recipe for ice cubes.”
