Microsoft is no stranger to a December game launch, though, as the original Xbox Series X|S and PC versions of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle came out in early December 2024.
Currently, the platform holder is on course for a very strong 2026, as it’s got Forza Horizon 6, Halo: Campaign Evolved, and Gears of War E-Day also coming to Xbox Series X|S, as the Xbox brand celebrates 25 years in November.
All but Gears of War: E-Day are confirmed for PS5 at the time of writing, but that’s likely to change in June as the title will be spotlighted following the Xbox Games Showcase. This means the prequel is likely to launch in 2026, and after Gears of War: Reloaded brought the series to PS5 last year, Gears of War E-Day is expected to follow.
