Fashion Bulletin: John Galliano’s Zara Partnership & Phoebe Philo’s Continued Success

The news cycle doesn’t stop when it comes to fashion, and although the Fall/Winter 2026 season ended last week, we already have new things to talk about on Fashion Bulletin today, like the announcement earlier this week that John Galliano is back in the atelier, this time with …Zara!

The Spanish retailer has reportedly signed Galliano to a two-year creative partnership, which will see him “re-author” the brand’s archives. The collections will be released twice a year, with the first dropping in September. Galliano will apparently be “working directly with garments from Zara’s past seasons, deconstructing and reconfiguring them” for these collections.

The decision is certainly a surprising one, and nods at the feeling of disenchantment that hangs in the air in fashion at present. The question remains: what will this collaboration actually look like? Galliano is known as one of the great designers of our time, with his most significant tenures at Dior and Maison Margiela—where he was creative director for 10 years before stepping down in 2024—how will this megawatt designer work with the Zara archives to create something both new and at an accessible price point? More importantly, what Zara archives?

This is hardly the first time a designer has collaborated with a mass brand. Just last year we saw Ludovic De Saint Sernin release a capsule with the Spanish retailer, while elsewhere in 2024, Claire Waight Keller (formerly at Givenchy) became the creative director of Uniqlo, and Zac Posen assumed the role of creative lead at Gap. As mass retailers make moves to fill the gap between luxury price points and a fast fashion identity, these partnerships establish such brands within that space. Galliano is certainly a big get for Zara, who no doubt have the funds, but nonetheless feels like a surprise due to speculation about where Galliano may end up after the industry-wide success of his final few collections at Margiela—especially his first and final couture foray.

Dior Pops Up At South Coast Plaza

Dior

In celebration of the launch of Jonathan Anderson’s Dior collections, South Coast Plaza’s Jewel Court will be transformed by the brand into a visual pop up. Reimagined as an homage to the archives, the pop up features a display of the boxes from Dior’s very first boutique on 30 Montaigne. The pop up is set to feature stand out moments from both Anderson’s women’s and men’s collections, featuring stand-out accessories and silhouettes. Time to shop!

Kaia Gerber Releases Collaboration With Repetto

Repetto

Who is an It girl without her ballet flats? This is the question Kaia Gerber asks with the release of her Repetto collaboration today, as a loyal wearer of the beloved flats. Titled “In Bloom”, the project is imagined via a campaign/short film (Gerber loves a campaign video-cum short film) directed by Neels Castillon and choreographed by Fanny Sage. The model and actor apparently went through months of dance training with Sage to both execute the campaign properly, and gain further understanding of Repetto’s dance-rooted history. The collection featured Gerber’s take on both the classic Camille heeled ballet flat and the Babies Mary Jane in multiple colourways. As a certified ballet flat/Repetto lover, I approve this partnership.

Loewe’s Debut SS26 Collection Lands At Bergdorf Goodman

Bergdorf Goodman

As of this week, we can all officially shop Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s debut Loewe Spring/Summer 2026 collection at Bergdorf Goodman. For anyone who wanted one of those Polly Pocket dresses or rubber shoes, now’s the chance. The collection, featuring women’s ready-to-wear looks, leather goods and accessories, will be framed against vibrant stacked ceramic-tile benches, drawing inspiration from the iconic Spanish artisan-made ceramic tiles featured throughout LOEWE stores.

Phoebe Philo Releases Collection E

This week, Phoebe Philo proves that she does not need a flashy show or even a celebrity-stacked campaign to have Philophiles still falling at her feet. With the release of the British Designer’s fifth collection since launching her eponymous, highly successful brand, Philo offered a collection filled with luxurious oversized furs, expertly cut drill cargo jackets, watery silk gown and leather bomber jackets with huge ribbed knit funnel necks that can only be described as indulgent. In a moment where there is a lot of chatter about casting, intention, spectacle, and virality, Philo once again lets the clothes do the talking.
