Floyd Mayweather has added yet another fight to his already busy 2026 schedule.
Mayweather is expected to face Mike Tyson in April and Manny Pacquiao in September, and now you can add an exhibition fight with kickboxer Mike Zambidis in June to the list.

We’ve been seeing random promos for a potential Mayweather vs. Zambidis fight in Athens, Greece for weeks, but Floyd finally broke his silence surrounding the fight, confirming it was real on Instagram.
“2026 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for me,” Mayweather wrote. “Europe, I’m on the way to entertain! Athens, Greece. Get Ready For An All Out Exhibition. This summer will be a legendary battle. June is the month where history will be made at the Telekom Center. Different energy. Different level.”
So who is Mike Zambidis? Zambidis is a 45 year old kickboxer from Greece with 18 world titles to his name and a reported 157-24 record. He’s fought numerous times for K-1, coming in third in the 2010 and 2012 MAX Tournaments. He hasn’t fought since 2015.

What’s the point of Floyd Mayweather fighting him? We’d say money and little else. Mayweather’s post-pro career has been full of odd opponent choices like former sparring partner Don Moore, KSI’s little brother Deji, and gangster John Gotti’s grandson John Gotti III. Zambidis is exactly the same kind of odd ‘nobody asked for this’ option that Mayweather chooses to fight, more so than Mike Tyson and Manny Pacquiao.
But there are lots of reports that Floyd Mayweather is in financial trouble these days, and a recent lawsuit accusing his broadcast partner at Showtime of helping his former manager Al Haymon defraud him to the tune of over a quarter of a billion dollars only adds more credence to those claims. That may be why Mayweather is finally stepping back into the ring against Pacquiao, over ten years since their first fight.
